Position Overview

We are currently seeking a certified and experienced Building Code Inspector to join our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals in a role that is both challenging and rewarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections of residential and commercial construction projects to verify compliance with ICC and PA UCC building codes
  • Accurately document inspection results and generate clear, detailed reports in a timely manner
  • Communicate code requirements effectively to contractors, property owners, and other project stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the plan review team by offering field-based insights and technical guidance as needed
  • Participate in pre-construction and progress meetings to support code compliance throughout the project lifecycle
  • Stay current with code updates, regulations, and best practices through ongoing training and certification

 

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Understanding of building codes, construction practices, and code enforcement processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to engage positively with contractors, staff, and the public
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in standard software tools and ability to learn company-specific systems

Qualifications

  • Current ICC/PA UCC Inspector Certifications (required)
  • 1–5+ years of experience in building code enforcement or related field
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Previous hands-on construction experience is beneficial but not required
