Are you an organized and detail-oriented professional with a passion for safeguarding the integrity of critical systems? Are you ready to take on a role where your expertise will make a critical impact? The Multi-Domain Solutions ( MDS ) division is seeking a skilled and dependable Carpenter to perform a wide range of carpentry and general maintenance duties that support the upkeep and enhancement of office spaces and facility structures. The ideal candidate will have experience in general construction, finish work, and minor facility repairs. This role plays a key part in ensuring the functionality, appearance, and safety of our workplace environment.
Primary Responsibilities :
Perform general carpentry services including framing, drywall, paneling, cabinetry, and trim work.
Support office renovations and maintenance of building core and shell structures.
Construct and install minor cabinetry and custom carpentry projects such as display framing for plaques and awards.
Assist in troubleshooting and repairing facility issues such as loose carpet tiles, floor tiles, and damaged desks or office furniture.
Perform minor waterproofing and glass maintenance, including replacing broken glass and addressing seal leaks.
Conduct routine inspections of facility components to identify and address needed repairs or maintenance.
Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with applicable building codes and standards.
Maintain tools, materials, and workspaces in a clean and organized condition.
Basic Qualifications
TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
High school diploma or equivalent.
2–4 years of relevant experience in facilities operations, maintenance, or space planning.
Working knowledge of facilities maintenance procedures, building systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing), and safety standards.
Ability to perform routine facility inspections and basic maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
Basic understanding of building codes and compliance requirements.
Familiarity with budgeting processes, cost tracking, and identifying cost-effective solutions.
Experience supporting the planning and execution of facility projects including renovations, relocations, and vendor coordination.
Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
Skilled in basic project planning and scheduling tools.
Ability to identify facility-related problems and recommend practical solutions.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree or vocational certification in facility management, construction management, mechanical systems, or related field.
4+ years of experience in facilities management, space planning, or building operations in a commercial or institutional setting.
Working knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical, and plumbing maintenance.
Familiarity with contract and vendor management, including procurement and performance oversight.
Experience developing long-range space utilization plans and coordinating office moves.
Knowledge of facility-related software (e.g., CAFM, CMMS, AutoCAD).
OSHA certification or similar training in workplace safety and compliance.
Strong organizational and documentation skills, including reporting and record-keeping.
Experience managing budgets and understanding cost allocation in facilities projects.
