About the role SIGN-ON BONUS - $5,000 (1/3 upon hire, 1/3 after 6 months, 1/3 after 1 year)
CDL drivers transport both hazardous and non-hazardous waste between Covanta facilities and the Client's sites. They will operate various equipment, including vacuum tankers, trucks, vans, trailers, and roll-off trailers. The CDL Driver must maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record and operate all vehicles in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements, as well as all local, state, and federal laws.
The ideal candidate should be open to a dedicated run to the Indianapolis Facility. The schedule is flexible, with roughly 13 hours per day, five days a week.
Responsibilities: - Safely operate equipment following DOT regulations and company policies and regulations.
- Drive commercial vehicles to safely pick up waste and transport it to a designated location, meeting scheduled appointments and following all DOT regulations.
- Ensure the placarding of vehicles meets DOT regulations.
- Maintain paperwork, including expense reports, time sheets, vehicle inspection reports, manifests, and job sheets.
- Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
- Secure cargo before and during transit.
- Complete additional assigned duties.
Requirements: - Ability and knowledge to operate a manual transmission required
- CDL Class A with HazMat and Tanker endorsements.
- High School Diploma / GED preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial driving experience.
- Must be 21 years or older due to interstate travel in a commercial vehicle and federal regulations.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to use a tablet for E-Logs.
- Abide by standard DOT regulations at all times.
