Summary

Green Fields School is seeking a full-time Mandarin Chinese Teacher to lead an immersive, schoolwide K?12 program. We believe that cultural fluency and global communication are essential for 21st-century learners. This position is ideal for a bilingual educator who is energized by working with a broad age range and can adapt instruction from playful foundational skills in early elementary to advanced academic discourse in high school.

Duties

Responsibilities:

• Teach Mandarin Chinese to students in grades K?12, adapting instruction to be developmentally appropriate across grade bands.
• Design engaging lessons that build speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in alignment with ACTFL proficiency standards.
• Integrate cultural content, celebrations, and experiential learning to deepen cross-cultural understanding.
• Collaborate with classroom and subject-area teachers to support interdisciplinary learning and reinforce global perspectives.
• Track student progress using a variety of assessments and provide individualized feedback.
• Support schoolwide language and culture initiatives such as international day events, art collaborations, or language competitions.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
• Bachelor's degree in Chinese Language Education, Linguistics, or a related field (Master?s preferred)
• Experience teaching Mandarin across a range of grade levels (K?12) required.
• Familiarity with immersion or proficiency-based programs and strong classroom management skills.
