Responsibilities

SummitRidge Hospital –is a place for Healing and Hope!  Our acute care psychiatric hospital is located in Lawrenceville (about 25 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta).  We provide psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment to adolescents, adults, and seniors, in addition to partial hospitalization and other outpatient programs (includes a location in Athens). 

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced  Clinical Nurse Educator to join our talented Nursing team. Clinical Nurse Educator responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for training/educating nursing staff on the nursing process and in compliance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Organize, schedule, and present continuing education for nurses and other facilitate personnel on nursing related topics.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership and administration on facilitating continuing education training.
  • Track and ensure nursing personnel meet continuing education requirements, including self.
  • Primarily educate nursing staff with varying levels of education and experience (may include Nurse Externs and/or new grad -RN Interns).
  • Research and update methods of training/ education to keep nurses current with new developments in their field.
  • May demonstrate direct patient care tasks including:
    • Monitor, report, and document the patients’ behavior and physiological status.
    • Administer medications and performs treatments/procedures in compliance with facility and nursing department policies/procedures.
    • Guide the response to residents who are behaviorally out of control or who may be experiencing a medical or behavioral crisis in collaboration with the nurse manager and physician.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Progressive leadership experience is required.
  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing with minimum of Bachelor degree.  Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
  • Licensed by a state participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact as a Registered Nurse
  • CPR certification
  • Excellent verbal, written and  interpersonal interaction skills.
  • Flexibility to teach when staff are available to learn may be evenings/weekends.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.
