Job Description

NW Houston area client in search of an experienced A/R Collector with strong customer skills. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor accounts to identify past due amounts.
• Request and pursue payment on delinquent accounts via communication with account holder.
• Contact Customers to obtain payment status of past due invoices.
• Investigate historical data for disputed invoices.
• Research and resolve disputed invoices.
• Maintain notes, pertinent account details and schedule follow-up communication with account holder.
• Take action to encourage timely payments.
• Process payments and Customer credits.
• Communicate the status of delinquent accounts to Management or other appropriate personnel.
• Perform other related duties, as required.

 Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-7 years relevant work experience
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as negotiation skills, with basic knowledge of credit and collections rules and regulations.
• Proven experience as a Collection Specialist or similar role.
• Knowledge of business to business (B to B) billing procedures and collection techniques.
• Must be proficient with MS Office Suite, including Outlook and Excel.
• Have strong analytical and research skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask and work towards tight deadlines.
• Have flexible work attitude and ability to successfully manage changing priorities.
• Ability to exhibit composure, patience and confidence when facing demanding situations.

Education

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is a plus.
