Reports to: Program Director/Training Outpatient Manager

Positions Supervised: None Amount of Travel Required: Minimal

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, tailored around student's schedule and program needs

Position Summary

As an Astra Mental Health and Recovery Master's Level Student, you will work in a stimulating and collaborative environment where you will gain exposure to diverse clients and perspectives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

As a 2nd Year - Master's Level Student (clinical social work or master's psychology practicum), you may have the opportunity to work in the following areas:
  • Job shadowing may focus on outpatient therapy services.
  • Provide co-therapy with identified fully licensed clinician.
  • Co-facilitate group therapy and/or parent education classes with a licensed clinician.
  • Research and present on a topic selected by the Training Director and Student. Student will present to a specific internal audience, coordinated through Family Service & Guidance Center's Training Director.
  • Present and/or lead clinical trainings during placement period.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure:
  • Current enrollment and in good standing in an accredited master's degree program majoring in social work or psychology.
  • Must successfully pass the KBI and DCF Central Registry background investigations.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, a good driving record, current auto insurance and reliable transportation.
Experience:
  • Passion and desire to work with children and families.
  • 0-6 months experience working with children.
