Job Description

Responsibilities

The Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Medical Staff Office, which includes credentialing of the physicians and allied health professionals, development of departmental policies and procedures, development and maintenance of budget and maintaining compliance with all regulatory agency requirements and accrediting body standards. This individual acts as a resource and is a liaison between the Administration and the Medical Staff. Coordinates the medical staff meetings with hospital departments and medical staff. Prepares agendas and PowerPoint presentations for medical staff meetings to include transcribing minutes. Communicates and coordinates with physicians, management team, and outside entities to facilitate credentials review. Responsible for the management of all functions of the Medical Staff Office, which includes all physician-related issues in compliance with corporate guidelines, state and local regulations, and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in health care credentialing, privileging and medical staff services
  • 2 years of leadership experience required
  • A combination of training and experience is necessary.
  • Extensive knowledge of medical terminology is required.

  • Good organization and strong interpersonal relationship skills; communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Customer-service oriented towards physicians and other hospital employees
  • Ability to learn quickly and function in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities
  • Must be able to receive and provide verbal feedback in a professional manner
  • Must be able to follow and understand instructions, and react favorably in all work situations

  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

License / Certification:

  • CPMSM and CPCS Certification by National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) preferred

Alan B. Miller Medical Center opening in Spring 2026!

A neighborhood hospital with medical center excellence! The Alan B. Miller Medical Center will feature 150 private patient rooms, a medical office building and a helistop. Upon completion of the initial phase of the project, the hospital campus will include 365,000 square feet of hospital and medical office space. The new Medical Center will offer comprehensive medical services including Emergency Care, Orthopedics, Surgical Services, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neurosurgical services. In addition, the campus will be home to medical office buildings that will provide outpatient services.
