Applicants must be AAPC CPC or AHIMA CCS, RHIT or RHIA certified and have at least two years of outpatient surgical coding experience in a healthcare facility setting. This is a fully remote position.
Outpatient Surgical Coder Responsibilities:
- Accurately assign CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for outpatient surgical procedures, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations
- Specialized coding in Wound Care and Cath Lab procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure accurate code assignment
- Stay informed about changes in coding guidelines and industry best practices
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance coding processes and optimize accuracy
Outpatient Surgical Coder Requirements:- Minimum of 2 years of acute care hospital outpatient coding experience
- Certification in one or more of the following: CPC, CCA, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT
- Proven experience in surgical coding within Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopedic, Gastroenterology, and Nephrology
- Expertise in Wound Care coding and Cath Lab coding
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in code assignment
