Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
About the Role:
A Colorado school district is seeking a qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide virtual instruction and consultation for K12 students. This role focuses on ensuring students with visual impairments have full access to their education while building independence and functional skills through engaging online sessions and teamwork with school staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide virtual direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments.
Adapt materials and collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and families to support student access and participation.
Develop and monitor IEP goals, document progress, and participate in meetings.
Teach braille, assistive technology, and other compensatory or access-related skills.
Support students in developing self-advocacy and independence skills.
Maintain compliance with district and state documentation standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Education of the Visually Impaired or related field.
Active Colorado teaching certification as a TVI.
School-based experience supporting students with visual impairments (virtual experience preferred).
Proficiency with assistive technology, braille instruction, and accessible learning strategies.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
