Research Analyst, Crypto Insights and Blockchain

Location: Midtown Manhattan, New York, NY (Hybrid Position)

The firm has completed hundreds of transactions across diverse industries with an aggregate value exceeding $100 billion. They are known for their focus on high-growth sectors such as healthcare and disruptive technologies, and they are now expanding into the cryptocurrency and blockchain space.

As part of this expansion, they are building out their Research team to provide dedicated coverage of digital assets, positioning the firm as a thought leader in one of the most rapidly evolving industries worldwide.

The Role

We are seeking a Research Analyst, Crypto Insights and Blockchain to join our client’s Research group. This is a unique opportunity to help shape how the firm approaches coverage of the crypto and blockchain ecosystem. The Analyst will author equity research reports, thematic industry commentary, and company-specific insights within the digital asset space.

Candidates may come from a traditional equity research background with fintech/crypto exposure, or from a crypto-native environment with publishing or analytical experience. The key is the ability to produce high-quality, compliance-ready research that resonates with institutional investors.

Core Responsibilities

• Author and publish research reports on crypto and blockchain companies, exchanges, miners, fintech platforms, and broader sector themes.
• Develop thematic coverage on areas such as tokenization, DeFi, stablecoins, payments infrastructure, and regulatory developments.
• Build and maintain financial models (for candidates with equity research backgrounds).
• Provide market insights, investment commentary, and sector outlooks to institutional clients.
• Collaborate with Investment Banking teams to support transactions with research and sector expertise.
• Engage with institutional investors, presenting findings and building credibility as a leading voice in disruptive finance.

Qualifications

We welcome a range of backgrounds, but candidates should bring a mix of:

• Publishing experience – prior authorship of research, reports, or analytical content (equity research, industry publications, Substack/Twitter/crypto media all considered).
• Crypto / blockchain expertise – deep familiarity with digital assets, exchanges, mining, infrastructure, and/or fintech intersections.
• Analytical and communication skills – ability to distill complex concepts into clear, insightful written research.
• For traditional equity research candidates : experience as an Equity Research Associate or Analyst (technology, fintech, or crypto coverage preferred).
• For crypto-native candidates : demonstrated credibility in the crypto ecosystem through publications, research platforms, or community leadership.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with a commitment to intellectual honesty and rigor.
