Department Bio The Institute for International Economic Policy (IIEP), which is located within the Elliott School of International Affairs, serves as a catalyst for high quality, multi-disciplinary, and non-partisan research on policy issues surrounding economic globalization. The Institute research program helps develop effective policy options and academic analysis in a time of growing controversies about international economic integration in many countries around the world. The institute's work also encompasses policy responses for those who face continued poverty and financial crises despite worldwide economic growth. IIEP Faculty have appointments in economics, history, geography, and political science, international affairs, public health, public policy, law, and business.
Position Specific Summary The Events and Operations Assistant provides essential day-to-day support to IIEP's small and fast-paced team, helping ensure that our office runs smoothly and our events are executed to the highest standard. Assistants work as part of a close-knit events and operations team, supporting everything from logistics and setup to speaker coordination and communications. Most assistants stay with IIEP for multiple semesters, gaining valuable experience and exposure to a wide network of policy professionals, faculty, and visiting speakers along the way.
Standard Position Description The student will perform basic administrative and logistical tasks supporting events. Tasks may include: event registration and check in, guest/patron services, scheduling of events, assisting with event set up and take down, participate in the creation and/or distribution of event materials. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.

Required Qualifications This is an entry level position, little to no experience required, all training will be provided.
