Work Schedule:

• Monday to Thursday: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Thursday to Sunday: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Schedule rotates every two months between the beginning and end of the week.

SUMMARY:
This position involves a variety of responsibilities related to the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment systems. Duties may include:

• Operating a wastewater analysis laboratory.
• Managing wastewater collection systems.
• Operating and maintaining wastewater pre-treatment and full treatment systems.
• Handling other types of water or wastewater treatment systems.

Key Activities:

• Collecting samples for analysis in compliance with EPA, state, and health department regulations.
• Performing chemical analyses both in and out of the laboratory.
• Adjusting systems based on chemical analysis results.
• Making informed decisions to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Performing mathematical calculations using basic algebraic formulas and a calculator.
• Completing computerized reports and compiling information for monthly reports required by permits, state authorities, EPA, or corporate management.
• Utilizing basic organizational, mechanical, and electrical wiring skills.
• Communicating operational status to upper management.
• Maintaining operations logs.
• Performing maintenance on equipment.
• Operating a spotter truck and/or forklift.
• Performing groundskeeping, painting, and general housekeeping duties.
• Other duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• 1+ years of wastewater experience preferred.

Computer Skills:

• Basic computer skills with knowledge of Word and Excel.

Communication Skills:

• Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical.

Certification:

• Must complete a stormwater training program selected by site management within thirty days.
• Must complete "Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume I" and "Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume II" correspondence courses through California State University Sacramento within twelve months.
• Must obtain the lowest grade certification within twelve months or as required by state regulations.

Other Requirements:

• Valid driver's license.
• Required to obtain higher levels of certification and training up to Level A at this facility.
• Must meet and maintain minimum qualification levels as required by state regulations.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy objects (50-75 pounds).
• Climbing and descending stairs or ladders.
• Working in unsanitary conditions.
• Handling hazardous chemicals.

Supervisory:

• None.

Travel:

• 1 to 2 trips per year.
