We are an Interior Design company based in Miami, FL with local projects in high-end residential design. We are seeking a part-time Interior Design Assistant who is knowledgeable and passionate about interiors. The ideal candidate can start immediately and has a flexible schedule as the position may quickly lead to a full-time role.
Must have qualifications:
- Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
- Must live in the Miami area
- Minimum of 3 years AutoCAD drafting – space plans, elevations, finish plans, RCP’s etc.
- Must own a computer with AutoCAD
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own a car
- Fluent in English, Spanish is a plus
- SketchUp and Photoshop skills are preferred but not required
- Product research skills
- A self-starter with an ability to work independently
- Extremely organized and detail oriented
- Responsible and motivated
- Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment, able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Basic understanding of product specifications, materials, furniture, and lighting
- Knowledge of MS Office – Word, Excel
Key Responsibilities:
- Producing detailed elevations and finish plans in AutoCAD
- Drawing basic millwork elevations
- Administrative tasks such as organizing specifications for a design project
- Going to job sites to meet with General Contractor and tradespeople and document existing conditions
- Surveying spaces
- Tracking orders and coordinating deliveries
- Sourcing product and procuring samples
- Meeting with clients as needed
- Communicating with vendors to obtain price quotes
- Data entry of project budgets and invoices into excel spreadsheets
- Assist in sourcing and procurement of furniture, fixtures, and finishes
- Job site walk throughs, producing snag lists
In additional to hourly pay, we will reimburse work related travel (gas.) A lot of work can be done from home and some work will be done in the field, primarily in North Miami and Bal Harbour.
We are a small firm so the successful candidate will have the opportunity to be exposed to all aspects of the design process firsthand. The work is varied and interesting and we are a fun team.
